vfilm / the creator program
your voice.
room to grow.
a selective program for independent u.s. creators exploring the possibilities of vertical micro film.
new ways of watching and making are opening a different conversation about who gets to create cinema. vfilm is being developed for people who want their own voice to be part of that conversation.

01 / why vfilm
a new opening.
a human point of view.
a change in the means of production can widen the field of possible creators. it can also leave individuals facing an unfamiliar market on their own. access to a creative tool and the confidence to build an original body of work are different kinds of opportunity. vfilm exists around the connection between them.
our interest is in people with something particular to express: a cultural perspective, a sense of place, a relationship with an audience or an imaginative world that deserves attention. vertical micro film offers a setting in which those interests can meet a personal viewing context. ai adds new possibilities to that setting, while the reasons for telling a story remain human.
the program is a planned space for creative development within this emerging field. the wider argument appears in the opportunity: why the audience, the format and the changing economics of making deserve to be considered together. the program brings that argument back to the ambitions of an individual creator.
02 / who it is for
different beginnings.
a shared ambition.
vfilm is intended for u.s.-based independent creators and emerging studios. some may come from writing or filmmaking. others may arrive through animation, visual art or experience with ai and hybrid media. those different histories can matter because the opportunity concerns the range of voices able to participate, as well as the tools available to them.
the common interest is original vertical micro film and the possibility of a sustained creative life around it. a developing voice can be valuable before it has a large audience. an experienced practitioner can also find that a new format raises ambitions their previous work did not accommodate. the program is designed to take both creative intent and a person’s existing contribution seriously.
fit depends on the particular creator, the current program and the support available. an introduction can begin that discussion at an early stage. creators can arrive with a direction they want to explore, an emerging body of work or experience from another creative form.

03 / the offer
a focused setting.
a wider conversation.
the planned offer is a selective learning and creative development program, with creative guidance and a community of peers. its purpose is to give selected participants access to a considered environment around their ambitions. the people involved, the available support and the shape of a particular cohort are established before participation.
a creator may value thoughtful guidance at a moment when the surrounding tools are changing quickly. another may value contact with peers who take the same format seriously. an emerging studio may be looking for a relationship with a broader field of creative and industry interests. these are connected reasons for a program, without implying that every participant needs the same experience.
the opportunity is also a matter of continuity. individual experiments can be exciting, but a creative identity develops over time. vfilm’s longer view is a community in which original work and independent ambition can continue to find relevant company beyond a single moment of technological novelty.

04 / creative ambition
a point of view
worth following.
more accessible image making does not make all work interchangeable. an original perspective can become more important when many people have access to comparable capabilities. the attraction of a creator is often the sensibility that connects their work: what they notice, whose experience interests them and the emotional world they choose to inhabit.
vfilm treats vertical micro film as a creative form with room for cinematic ambition. the personal screen can hold intimate stories, heightened entertainment and unfamiliar points of view. the format’s accessibility need not determine the limits of its imagination. our interest is in creators who see meaningful possibilities in that relationship.
ai belongs within that ambition as an expanding creative capability. it does not remove questions of authorship, permission or taste. the program’s purpose is to support people entering this field with an independent intention of their own, rather than treating the availability of a tool as a sufficient reason for a story to exist.

05 / the studio horizon
room for another
kind of studio.
the longer-term ambition behind vfilm is a network of independent studios. a studio in this context begins with a recognizable creative direction and the possibility of continued work. it may be small in scale while still taking its relationship with an audience and its original intellectual property seriously.
our view is that ai could make that possibility relevant to a wider set of creators. capabilities that once depended on larger organizations may become accessible in different combinations. the commercial outcome will still depend on the work, its audience and the conditions of its market. a broader ability to participate creates an opening, rather than a predetermined business result.
the independent studios page explores this horizon in more depth. the creator program offers one point of connection with that larger ambition. it begins with a person’s creative direction and an interest in the independent enterprise that might grow around it.

06 / participation
clarity before
commitment.
each cohort has a practical scope. dates, format, expected availability, fees and included support are shared before a creator decides whether to participate. that conversation matters because people arrive with different responsibilities and different expectations of what a program can provide.
the first introduction creates no payment commitment. any later participation arrangement identifies the relevant offer and its terms. additional services, production resources or commercial opportunities depend on their own availability and agreements. a general expression of interest does not reserve them.
vfilm welcomes serious ambition and a considered sense of purpose. the value of participation rests on the support agreed, the quality of the creative setting and its relevance to the creator’s aims. a clear fit gives both sides a reason to invest their attention in the relationship.
07 / creative independence
your direction.
specific agreements.
the program’s principles center creative independence. participation does not automatically transfer intellectual property, future work or likeness. ownership, commercial use and any revenue participation belong in the agreements relevant to a particular project.
the same principle applies to access. a relationship with vfilm does not give sponsors or other organizations general permission to use a creator’s materials. review, publicity and further commercial uses require the permissions appropriate to them. the presence of ai makes clarity about those relationships important, rather than making authorship less significant.
program participation, studio investment and film financing remain separate decisions. the privacy notice describes the present website and initial correspondence. the website terms explain the scope of public information and the distinction from a later agreement.

08 / a first conversation
an open door.
a considered fit.
the introduction form offers a simple way to express interest in the program and the field around it. it prepares an email for the visitor to review and send. a conversation can then establish whether there is a relevant opportunity, with availability and any further arrangements confirmed directly.
the opening question is whether the creative ambition and the current program belong together. some introductions may lead to a fuller discussion, while others may concern a future opportunity or a different relationship with vfilm. the starting point is a genuine interest in original work and the possibilities of this new category.
